Our Five Favorite Cruise YouTube Channels
Okay, let’s be real with you – as travel agents, we’re completely obsessed with watching cruise YouTube channels. It’s part of our job research, but honestly, we’d probably watch them anyway because we’re cruise nerds like that. We’ve discovered some amazing creators who totally get what modern cruising is all about. Here are five that we really like.
1. Zach the Traveling Man
Zach brings such an authentic solo cruising perspective, and his story is relatable. He didn’t even fly on an airplane until he was 21. Now he’s been on nearly 40 cruises across most major cruise lines. What makes his content so valuable for us is his focus on Celebrity Cruises and NCL. He’s done multiple sailings on both lines and really understands what each offers. His Celebrity Edge review was detailed and honest, covering everything from the food quality to the suite experiences. Zach is particularly good at covering shore excursions and port experiences – he gets that cruising is about the destinations as much as the ship. His reviews of NCL’s newer ships like Norwegian Prima give you a good look at whether these massive new ships actually deliver on the experience they promise.
2. Cruise With Ben and David
This couple are brilliant at giving you the full picture of what a cruise is really like. With over 320,000 subscribers, they’ve built their reputation on honest, comprehensive reviews without accepting sponsorships that might influence their opinions. What we love about Ben and David is that they actually sail on the ships they review – they’re not just doing quick press trips or promotional sailings. They’ve covered everything from Celebrity’s newest ships to NCL’s latest offerings, and they’re particularly great at breaking down the dining experiences and explaining which specialty restaurants are worth the extra cost. Their Celebrity Beyond review was especially helpful for clients who were considering that ship, because they covered everything from the innovative cabin designs to the port experiences in detail. They’re also excellent at covering the practical stuff – like how crowded ships feel, whether the WiFi actually works, and if the entertainment is worth your time.
3. Trek Trendy
Will is perfect for our clients who are interested in the luxury cruise experience. With over 1.27 million subscribers, he’s clearly found his niche in high-end travel content. What sets Trek Trendy apart is his focus on premium suites and luxury experiences. He’s sailed in the top suites on Celebrity, Virgin Voyages, and even ultra-luxury lines like Regent Seven Seas. His Virgin Voyages coverage was particularly impressive, showing off the Mega Rockstar suite and giving a real sense of what that “adults-only” experience is actually like. He also breaks down the costs of these luxury experiences, so you know exactly what you’re getting into financially. If you’re considering Celebrity’s suite class, Virgin’s RockStar suites, or looking at Explora Journeys or Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection, Trek Trendy’s reviews give you the detailed look at whether those premium experiences are worth the investment.
4. The Shiplife (J. Alexander)
Jay is interesting because he brings such a unique insider perspective to cruising. He actually worked for Norwegian Cruise Line as a hip-hop dancer and performer before becoming a full-time content creator. What makes his reviews so valuable is that he’s seen cruising from both sides – as crew and as a guest – so he understands exactly how these ships operate. He takes around 20-30 cruises per year and doesn’t accept free cruises from cruise lines. Jay’s background working for NCL really comes through in his videos. He’s particularly great at explaining the behind-the-scenes aspects of how cruise ships work. His content is helpful for anyone cruising on NCL, Royal Caribbean, or Celebrity. He’s especially good at covering the experiences that matter – the food, the service, and whether you’re actually getting value for what you pay.
5. Views and Queues
This couple has mastered the art of showing you what a cruise actually feels like day-to-day. With over 50,000 subscribers, they’ve built their following by creating authentic vlogs that give you a real sense of the cruise experience. What we love about Views and Queues is their approach to trying different cruise lines. They recently did their first NCL cruise after sailing Royal Caribbean for years, and their honest comparison was helpful.
They’re great at covering the practical aspects of cruising – like how the ship feels when it’s at capacity. Their coverage of newer ships like Norwegian Aqua shows you exactly what the embarkation process is like, how the specialty restaurants compare, and whether the ship lives up to the marketing hype. They’re particularly good at showing port days and shore excursions.
What Makes These Channels Special
The reason we recommend these five creators is that they all understand that cruising today is about authentic experiences. They cover cruise lines we like to work with – Celebrity, Explora, NCL, Ritz Carlton Yachts, Virgin Voyages – and they get that our clients want honest information about everything from suite perks to shore excursion options.
